It is a joy to serve the community of Daviess County by being the hands and feet of Jesus through sharing the true love of Christ with kids and their families.

BERLY TILLMAN SULLIVAN

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Berly has served as the Executive Director of MentorKids Kentucky for over a decade and continues to advocate for at-risk youth in Daviess County. She is a graduate of Indiana State University and has experience in both the nonprofit and for-profit sectors. One of the highlights of her non-profit work was serving as the Director of Special Events for Easter Seals of Southwestern Indiana.

Passionate people have passionate ways, and Berly is extremely passionate. She fiercely loves the Lord, her family, and friends. Berly is known to do whatever she can to help anyone in need. It's both her personal mission and MentorKids Kentucky's to help the children of Daviess County persevere through the trials of life by building their character and offering them hope for the future.

Berly's amazing husband, Darin, is the owner of Bluegrass Technology. They are raising two beautiful children, Jackson and Katherine, with the help of Mateo, the world's best service dog, and Margo, their wicked-smart service dog in training.

SARAH MAGLINGER

EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT

Sarah Maglinger has served as the Executive Assistant for MentorKids Kentucky since December 2024. Prior to this role, she served on the Board of Directors for MentorKids Kentucky for two years, where she also served as the Secretary for the Executive Board. She gained a deep understanding of the organization’s mission and operations during that time. Sarah holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Religion from Bethany Bible College with an emphasis in Music Ministry. 

As a Director with Classical Conversations for five years, Sarah developed strong leadership and organizational skills. Additionally, she has facilitated piano lessons for over a decade. Outside of her professional experience, Sarah has been a homemaker and homeschooling mom, where she remains passionate about family, music, reading, and Jiu-jitsu.

Sarah is married to Art Maglinger, and they have three children: Susie, Christian, and Titus. Their family is a member of Bellevue Baptist Church, where they are actively involved in their church community. Her family participates in MentorKids Kentucky’s Family Mentoring Program.  Sarah is committed to both her family and the mission of MentorKids Kentucky. She is excited to continue contributing to the organization’s work in the years to come!

CHEROKEE PARKER

DIRECTOR OF PROGRAMMING

Cherokee joined the MentorKids Kentucky team in October of 2023. She has served, volunteered, and worked in the local church most of her life, leading children, students, and adults through various aspects of ministry and personal growth. Cherokee holds ministry credentials from the Kentucky School of Ministry and is passionate about encouraging and discipling the next generation. She loves Jesus, her family, and her friends deeply and plans to use her love for people in her role as Director of Programming at MentorKids Kentucky.

Cherokee believes in MentorKids Kentucky's mission so much that she chose to become a mentor and is now in a One-to-One match with her own Mentee. This new role will provide her with added insight into her position as Director of Programming.

Cherokee married her high school sweetheart, Aaron, in 2000, and they have two children, Emmaline and Ephraim. They enjoy bond-fires, hiking, and are always up for new adventures.

Director of DeVELOPMENT

Andy Basham serves as the newly-appointed Director of Development at MentorKids Kentucky, where he uses his heart for ministry and passion for young people to help strengthen and expand the mission. Andy believes deeply in the power of Christ-centered mentorship to change lives, and he is committed to building relationships and creating opportunities that help more kids experience hope, guidance, and the love of Christ.

Andy’s background includes several years in nonprofit leadership, where he supported fundraising efforts, financial operations, and large community events. He has also served in pastoral ministry, serving in roles that emphasized discipleship, outreach, and relationship building. This blend of nonprofit experience and ministry leadership shapes his heart‑first approach to development work.

Outside of his role at MentorKids, Andy loves spending time with his wife and children, serving in the local church, leading worship, and finding ways to encourage others in their faith. He is passionate about building community, investing in the next generation, and helping kids discover their God‑given potential.

MentorKids Kentucky has a solid governing Board of Directors that guide the overall direction of our mentoring programs. The Directors cast vision, set policies, and evaluate both the Executive Director and the outcomes of work. They are heavily involved with fundraising, networking, and advocating for the needs and value of youth from single-parent and non-traditional households.
