MATCH ACTIVITIES

Each month we offer fun and exciting experiences for our matches. Monthly Match Activities give the matches a chance to do something with other matches, allowing us to observe and see how each match is growing in their relationship!

Each year we plan new events, and we have some annual activities that are requested. Some of our favorite Match Activities are kickball, game nights at the MentorKids office, and bowling!

We are always looking for volunteers who may be interested in serving but who, at this time, cannot commit to being a mentor. Our Activities Volunteers commit to serving every month or every other month.

Group Mentoring Program

MentorKids Kentucky is able to immediately come alongside youth who have been accepted into our one-to-one mentoring program. This allows for the opportunity to begin building a foundation of trust with the youth who attend Thursday nights in preparation for when a mentor becomes available to them.

Group Mentoring has been designed to benefit both the youth waiting for a mentor as well as those youth already matched who may need additional support.

By partnering with community volunteers, MentorKids Kentucky is able to provide the support necessary to be successful in our Six Areas of Focus: Academic Excellence, Character Building, Relational Skills, Tobacco Prevention, Spiritual Growth, and Life Skills.

When youth are dropped off at MentorKids from 4-6 PM on Thursdays, their legal guardians know for certain that:

1. They will be safe.

2. They will be fed dinner.

3. Their homework will be completed.

4. They will be provided opportunities for growth.

5. They will have a blast!
